Is Deadpool 3 gonna have the X-Force?

Deadpool 3 – What’s It Gonna Be?

Ryan & Hugh

If you watch YouTube (And really, who doesn’t?), then you’ve seen the latest additions to Ryan Reynolds’ YT channel. He’s dropped two videos teasing Deadpool 3! In the first video, we see Reynolds typing away on a new script. But wait, there’s more! He’s dressed as Deadpool, sans mask, and it’s not his usual red and black suit. This one is grey. Is this a reference to his black and white X-Force suit? Are we gonna get a real X-Force movie?

And if that didn’t make your head spin, this next part is sure to. As Reynolds goes on about being short of ideas for this installment, who comes strolling through the background? Hugh Jackman! That’s right, he’s back to play Wolverine one more time!

Our Deadpool 3 Theory!

Now, despite the Wolverine name drop we get from Ryan Reynolds’ video, we have an idea that could be great. What if instead of Wolverine, Hugh Jackman plays Hugh Jackman? Think about it like this. Deadpool goes out to get help from Wolverine, but he gets it wrong and finds Jackman instead. Undaunted by his error, he thinks that Wolverine is just laying low and pretending to be Jackman.

At this point, Hugh Jackman pleads his case by explaining that there’s going to be a new cast of actors in the MCU version of the X-Men. Deadpool laughs this off because he’s a fan and has seen all the movies. He “knows” Jackman is Wolverine. As such, he drags Jackman through their adventure.

The story continues with it seeming like Deadpool is constantly jeopardizing Hugh Jackman’s safety. Action and hilarity ensue. By the end of the story, they’re facing dire odds when something happens that incapacitates Deadpool’s coherence. Like the spike in his head in the first movie. During this altered state, Hugh Jackman pops out the Wolverine claws and (snikkity snakt!!) saves the day. Just as Deadpool gets back to his senses, the claws retreat back into Jackman’s hands and the wounds heal over. Deadpool asks what happened and Jackman breaks the fourth wall to give us a wink and then gives Deadpool the credit for everything.

Possibly the Passing of the Torch

None of us thought we’d see Hugh Jackman return to the Wolverine character. Now, with the promise of new X-Men films placed firmly in the MCU, what do we do about Wolverine? This appearance of Wolverine could be used to introduce Deadpool to a whole new cast of X-Men players. This could be how we find out who will play Wolverine in future films.

Reynolds, himself, referred to Deadpool 3 as Deadpool’s entry into the MCU. If that’s the case, how does Hugh Jackman fit it? He’s the anchor point of so much of the FOX X-Men films. The best use of Jackman isn’t as Wolverine, but simply as himself.

If Deadpool encounters Hugh Jackman as himself, he could meet up with the other actors, too. Let’s not forget that we have seen Deadpool interact with Ryan Reynolds. We have also seen him wearing a Hugh Jackman mask. Deadpool already exists in a place where these actors are as real as he is.

If the third act does reveal that Jackman really has the powers of Weapon X, he could still pass the mantle of Wolverine to a new actor by sharing the moment with said person. They save the day, then they tell Deadpool he did it all on his own.

Too Soon to Tell

Right now, all this is pure speculation. This is just the beginning of media surrounding the release of the Deadpool 4 prequel. That’s right. You know if this is as successful as the others, there’s gonna be more of them. Look at it this way. Hugh Jackman played Wolverine in, what, nine films? This will be like the tenth time. With the friendly rivalry that has always existed between him and Ryan Reynolds, I see a scenario where Reynolds tries to out do Jackman. So, yeah, Deadpool 3 is the Deadpool 4 prequel.
